Friends + Family, hosted by Damion Rashad, is a local creative mixer series bringing together DJs, artists, creatives, and visionaries for a night of dancing, connection, and good vibes over food, music, and community. Hosted monthly in the Raleigh/Durham area and expanding, its goal is to reinvent the local scene through real life connection.

Block Party // Creative Mixer
Filming Friends + Family's Durham Block Party was a chance to fully dive into storytelling through visuals. With multiple DJ sets, vibrant lighting, and a spacious setup, the energy was electric and ever-changing.
I ran a double-camera setup to capture both wide atmosphere and intimate crowd moments, letting me flex my transitions and filming techniques to really bring the story to life. Starting at dusk and shooting into the night, I was able to show the shift in mood—from golden-hour chill to full-on nighttime vibes dance party—capturing how the scene built up and came alive as the music and crowd took over.
One of my favorite videos I’ve been able to film and a great piece of the portfolio, I’m grateful to have been part of something local as I continue to expand my footprint.
